KEYS TO PHILLIES VICTORY

IS A WIN ACTUALLY POSSIBLE?: I don’t see the Phillies winning any of these games, but I would love to be pleasantly surprised…especially on Tuesday night, when I will be in attendance with my lovely bride. But the Phils did sweep the Cubs in Wrigley a year ago, when Chicago was on its way to a playoff berth and the Phillies were the worst team in baseball. So anything can happen…at least theoretically.

HIT LIKE SUNDAY: To make that unlikely victory occur, the Phillies are either going to need a huge shutdown outing from at least one of their starting pitchers, or they are going to have to out-hit the Cubs. The latter is not likely. However, the Phils did just score eight runs yesterday, reaching at least that high for only the third time all season. Another big offensive outburst couldn’t hurt.
