I am having a difficult time focusing. Roy Oswalt lost his first game in Citizen’s Bank Park and I can’t stop thinking about a certain dreamy second baseman sauntering handsomely back into the starting line-up of the Philadelphia Phillies. Rationally, regardless of his personal appearance, we all know that Chase Utley returning to the line-up is not going to rectify all of the problems they are having scoring runs, but removing a weak hitting double play machine from the number two position in the batting order is going to markedly improve their chances. Cliff Lee and Ryan Madson Combine to Shut Out Rangers/Help Humanity Avoid Rapture

Cliff Lee spent the end of last season pitching for the Texas Rangers. Everyone really wanted him to care, to show a tinge of regret after choosing Philadelphia over last year’s American league champions. If he missed his old teammates, he sure has a funny way of showing it. Lee was great tonight, tossing eight innings of shut-out ball and striking out then en route to a 2-0 victory. Colby Lewis lined a pitch off of Lee’s neck in an obvious attempt to knock him from the game. Lee smiled coyly, as he is want to do and continued to dominate the Rangers. (more…)

Halladay, Homers Lead Phils to 3-2 Win

C.J. Wilson says of bunch of stuff on twitter. Before facing Roy Halladay he acknowledged the fact that the Phillies ace is half man and half machine. Wilson used the ubiquitous social networking site to dub Roy “Cyborg.” I will use this as an opportunity for everyone out there to picture Roy Halladay posting on twitter.
