Speaking of dominance, will there be any against the Rangers?  Let’s ask Stacy Smith of Nolan Writin’.  But let’s do it in a way that indicates we have in no way moved past Kyle Kendrick’s stellar performance just one evening ago.

1.  Did you see Kyle Kendrick last night?  God he’s terrible.

Stacy:  Yea, five earned runs on seven hits in just three innings plus a walk?  It’s a shame that he couldn’t have pitched like he did in his spot start earlier this month, huh? But wait, isn’t this supposed to be about the Rangers, not the Phillies? (more…)

-Record outburst in “Outburst Journal” for rage-therapy

-Head to kitchen, glare suspiciously at mascot on generic Cheerios box because he looks like character I once doodled in college

-Open internet, read latest story on the destruction of Chase Utley, and by proxy, the Philadelphia Phillies

-Realize sliding glass door was left open the night before and living room now flooded with rain water/stray cats

-Leave house, assuming all problems will be fixed by the time I return in several hours (more…)

The Phillies had a right-handed hitter, but he’s off making some other city develop a beard fetish.  If we were to pluck our fifth starting pitcher, Joe Blanton I mean, from his perch, and offer him in a trade for Young, we’d be filling the need we lost; a need that will remain a question mark for some time.

However, Young gets us only halfway to the promised land, in that his bat rests on the right side of the plate, but his glove prefers to dance around the infield.  Ideally, an outfielder is who we’d be scanning for in anything close to this situation.  So is this infield of hard-burners willing to fit around another guy for his offense?
