Toronto could not contain the Phillies in a spring training game that nearly went four hours

Spring training miscues and some lucky bounces helped the Phillies throughout their second spring training win of the season

Jeremy Hellickson started the Phillies third official game of the spring, pitching two innings allowing four hits, two runs, and a walk.

Joaquin Benoit allowed a solo home run in his lone inning of work, but did collect two strikeouts in his Phillies debut. Pat Neshek had a hitless inning of relief, followed by two solid innings from prospect Ben Lively.

Highly-touted relief prospect Alberto Tirado pitched two fairly clean innings with two strikeouts while walking one Blue Jay batter. Michael Mariot came into the ninth and sealed the victory for Philadelphia on the road in Dunedin.

Offensively the Phillies were back in business scoring double-digit runs by the seventh inning. They walked an impressive eight times, but struckout an unimpressive 15.

Andres Blanco lifted his first home run of the spring over the field in right field, and prospect Nick Williams had two RBI’s after entering the game mid-way through.

Cam Perkins and Brock Stassi continued their battle for the role as the lefty off the bench. Perkins collected two hits before being pulled for Roman Quinn, while Stassi smacked an RBI double to left-center in the fifth.

The Phillies will return to Clearwater tomorrow to play Tampa Bay at 1:05.

Also, make sure someone tells Larry Anderson where to be on Monday.

Jerad Eickhoff is expected to get the start against the Rays.
