Phillies Wall of Famer Jim Thome to Throw First Pitch at Game 7

Cleveland fans won’t get the Wild Thing, but they will see Jim Thome throw the first pitch of Game 7 of the World Series

Future Hall of Fame slugger Jim Thome will be on-hand in Cleveland Wednesday to throw out the ceremonial first pitch.

Thome started his illustrious career in Cleveland, and is the franchise-leader in home runs with 337. Naturally, the ball will be delivered to him by former teammate Travis Hafner.

While unconfirmed, “Wild Thing” Charlie Sheen will be in Cleveland and is expected to play some role Wednesday night. It just won’t be the first pitch like his character from “Major League” would.

Thome played parts of four seasons in Philadelphia, and was added to the Wall of Fame last summer. He is credited with being the first major free agent to come to Philadelphia since Pete Rose, and was a catalyst to the Phillies success in the late 2000’s despite being traded.

First pitch of Game Seven from Cleveland between the Cubs and Indians will be Wednesday night at 8 p.m. One major championship drought will fall for one club, while the other and it’s fanbase will continue their fandom agony.
