Pharm Phocus: 4 Cutters headed to ASG


The Crosscutters return to action Wednesday.

Tuesday night four players will represent Williamsport in the New York-Penn League All-Star Game.

The players include: Derek Campbell, Jiandido Tromp, Mitch Gueller and David Whitehead.

Campbell is batting .267 with Williamsport this season.  He has 19 doubles in 50 games.

For Tromp it is his second NYPL All-Star Game.  The outfielder has a .266 average with 12 home runs and 30 RBIs.

Gueller is 5-4 with a 3.65 ERA.

Whitehead is 4-3 in 11 starts with a 2.61 ERA.


Lakewood had a day off Monday and will return to the field Tuesday against the West Virginia Power.

Yoel Mecias (2-2, 3.42) will be on the mound Tuesday.


The Threshers were rained out Monday and will make it up in a doubleheader at Daytona Tuesday.

Miguel Nunez will start game one and Mark Leiter will start game two.


The Fightin’ Phils had a scheduled day off Monday.

Aaron Nola looks to bounce back Tuesday after a shaky second start in Double-A.  Nola went four innings in his previous start, giving up three home runs.


A day off for the IronPigs was scheduled, although Maikel Franco may still be celebrating his two-run walk-off homer from Sunday’s game.

Lehigh Valley will next play Tuesday when Jason Marquis takes the hill.  Marquis is 1-0 with a 3.07 ERA in 29.1 innings.
