Cliff Lee returns to face San Francisco Giants

Today is the day many have been waiting for, and Philadelphia Phillies fans finally have something to look forward to. Cliff Lee will make his return tonight from an elbow injury. Lee’s last start came on May 18th against the Cincinnati Reds.

All eyes will be focused on Lee tonight, including scouts. Phillies trade rumors are heating up, and he could be traded very soon.

The Philadelphia Phillies will face off against the San Francisco Giants tonight at Citizens Bank Park to begin a four-game series. Philadelphia comes into tonight’s game with a 43-55 record, 11 games out of first place in the NL East. The Giants, however, are 54-44, tied for first place with the Los Angeles Dodgers in the NL West.

Lee, 4-4 with a 3.18 ERA, will take on Ryan Vogelsong who is 5-7 on the year and has a 3.86 ERA.

Tonight’s starting lineups:

San Francisco:

Pence RF, Scutaro 2B, Posey C, Sandoval 3B, Morse LF, Duvall 1B, Crawford SS, Blanco CF, Vogelsong P

Sizemore CF, Rollins SS, Utley 2B, Howard 1B, Byrd RF, Brown LF, Asche 3B, Rupp C, Lee P

With Lee back on the mound, this should be an intriguing game as the Phillies and scouts everywhere learn where he is physically.
