Grapefruit League Season Begins Today: Philadelphia Phillies vs. Toronto Blue Jays

For some people, the calendar year is divided into two portions: Baseball season and everything else. If you fall into this group, I have some good news for you: The “everything else” time is rapidly coming to a close.

An actual baseball game will be played today, as the Phillies kick off the Grapefruit League season with a game against the Toronto Blue Jays.

Here is today’s Phillies’ lineup:

  1. Ben Revere – CF
  2. Jimmy Rollins – SS
  3. Chase Utley – 2B
  4. Ryan Howard – 1B
  5. Marlon Byrd – RF
  6. Bobby Abreu – DH
  7. Domonic Brown – LF
  8. Carlos Ruiz – C
  9. Cody Asche – 3B

This might be the same lineup that we end up seeing on Opening Day against Yu Darvish and the Texas Rangers. Today’s starting pitcher will be Robert Hernandez, but I sincerely hope that we will not be seeing him on Opening Day. The lineup will be going against former Phillie J.A. Happ who gets the start for the Jays.

Game time is 1:05 PM, and the game can be seen on Comcast SportsNet, and can be viewed online via MLB.TV.
