Three Young Pitchers Two Hit Marlins

Vance Worley, Michael Stutes and Antonio Bastardo threw a two hit shut out today.  I had a master plan of shoe horning all three young hurlers into a kid based something or other, like The Kids Will Have Their Say, so there you are.  I have also proved that I am cool by providing a link to a song from an early eighties hardcore band.  All three of these guys have exceeded expectations to a degree that is difficult to put into words.  Between injuries and ineffective performance, these three have been thrust into high leverage situations and have performed magnificently.  None of the three were considered high level prospects and only Bastardo looked as if they were going spend significant amount of time with the major league club this season.  They are with the club and they are really fucking good.

The Phillies scored one run in this game.  It was knocked in by center fielder Michael Martinez.  What the hell is going on around here?  High touted outfielder Domonic Brown had a good game and brought some reality to a really strange game.

Cole Hamels starts tomorrow against Chris Volstad.
