Simpson and Smoltz on the Braves broadcast made a big deal out of Kendrick's success resulting from his abandoning the cutter and going strictly sinker/slider/fastball. Any idea of the truth behind this? I will say that Kendrick seemed to have a little more velocity, consistently hitting 91, than I remember him having.
