But as someone who had tommy john surgery because of an injury that occured at shortstop, I am living proof that it doesn't matter how babied you are, arm injuries sometimes just happen. Adding on to what Moyer said; you can get hurt just as easily throwing pitch #1 as you can throwing pitch #120, or not even a pitch at all. A back-hand play in the 5.5 hole will do the trick as well.
