O yeah, who came out on top in the play-offs last year. If Fielder was really better than howard, he would have carried the team on his back like Howard did in the late summer months.

Fielder is better. Better average, better on base %, better OPS, younger. End of story.

A fair totally comparison, but Ryan didn’t play anywhere near full seasons in 04 and 05 (which I assume you are counting in this 5 yr span), so the number comparison is slightly misleading because it somewhat downplays Howard’s phenominal production.
Fielder is certainly having the best year of his career, but this Prince Fielder hasn’t always performed on this level of production.
If he does it again next year, I’ll be convinced
